Indomitable Creativity

The trick is that the destruction clause is bait. You point this at your own tokens, the cheapest artifacts and creatures you can manufacture, and the "destroy" half becomes a payment rather than a removal spell: each thing you kill converts into the first artifact or creature card revealed as its controller digs through their library. That conversion ignores mana value entirely, which is the whole engine. Build a deck whose only real creatures are a pair of haymakers and whose only artifacts are tokens, and X equals the number of permanents you cash in for guaranteed hits. The defining line is well known by now: turn a couple of Treasures or Servos into a threat with an instant-win attack trigger and a piece that protects it, all for one sorcery resolution. It cheats past a card's printed cost the way a tutor does, except the price is paid in dead bodies rather than mana or life. The friction is written into the wording: you reveal until an artifact or creature appears, so a build padded with non-hits dilutes its own results, and the symmetric text lets opponents convert their own destroyed permanents too. That symmetry almost never bites, because nobody else structures a library to reward it. What makes the sorcery sing is the deckbuilding discipline it demands: the more your deck looks like a combo deck, the cleaner this card reads.
