Imperious Oligarch
Three power split across two bodies, arriving in sequence: a 2/1 first, then a 1/1 flier after that body dies. That staggering is the entire trade afterlife asks you to make. You accept a fragile front line (a 2/1 that trades down against almost anything) in exchange for a payoff that only unlocks on death, so the creature is priced around its dying rather than its living. Vigilance is what keeps the front half from feeling like pure fodder: the 2/1 attacks without surrendering the block, so it pressures the board and holds the fort in the same turn, and whenever it does finally die (chump, trade, or removal), it leaves a flying body behind that the ground stall can no longer answer. Every death is a downgrade in stats but an upgrade in reach. As sacrifice material it is doubly generous, since one card feeds an outlet twice and the second offering comes with evasion baked in, which makes it a stronger aristocrats piece than its numbers suggest. Nothing here is loud. It is the grinding kind of two-drop whose value comes from refusing to trade down cleanly: kill it and you have simply moved the problem into the air.
