Illusion // Reality

The joke of this enemy-color split card is that its two halves disagree about whether color even matters. The Illusion half is pure color manipulation: it makes a spell or permanent any color you choose until end of turn, an effect that does almost nothing by itself but rewards a pilot who knows exactly which color-keyed door to walk through. Pointed at your own board, it slips an attacker past a protection clause or a color-specific blocker; pointed at a threat, it strips a creature of color-keyed evasion or recolors it into the teeth of a removal spell that was previously locked out. Notably, it works on any permanent, artifacts included, so a colorless permanent can be painted into the color a removal spell demands. Reality, by contrast, is the bluntest object in the green toolbox: destroy target artifact, an answer aimed at exactly the card type that traditionally has no color of its own to manipulate. So the pairing brackets the whole question. One half lives or dies on what color something is; the other handles the cards that arrive with no color to begin with. The split cards of this era were built so a deck of one color could keep a second-color answer in reserve, and this one captures the blue-green pair cleanly: a flexible tempo wrinkle that needs a clever pilot, stapled to a reliable removal spell that needs only a target. Two effects sharing a card precisely because they sit at opposite ends of the same axis.
