"Choose three, and repeat if you like" is a template that rewards concentration, and this scheme hands the entire question of how much to concentrate to the archenemy. The three modes read like a grab-bag (a kill, a card, five life), but the sadism the flavor promises lives in the freedom to name the same line more than once: three destroy modes is a targeted sweep, three draws refills a spent hand, three chunks of five buys back a full turn of racing against the whole table. Because each mode reads "target," the archenemy can also apportion the effects: draw for themselves, gain life for themselves, and point all the removal wherever the board is most threatening, so nothing has to be wasted on a benign target. That is the point of the scheme genre: in a format where one player fights the team, the villain is deliberately dealt effects no legal spell would offer, and schemes cost nothing beyond being set in motion. There are no guardrails on the modal choice because there is no mana to pay for the extra copies. This is a compact demonstration of the design idea taken to its limit: modal flexibility with the pricing removed, scaling from a minor swing to a decisive one at the archenemy's sole discretion.
