Humongulus

A wall that refuses to be answered on its own terms. Most defensive creatures die to targeted removal the moment they inconvenience an attacker; the hexproof here strips that option away, forcing opponents to either commit a sweeper or find a way over the top. Five toughness is the number that matters: it survives the common burn spells and most single-block combat, so the 2/5 body becomes a persistent roadblock rather than a speed bump. The design trade is honest. Two power means it threatens almost nothing on offense, and five mana for a defensive body is a real tempo cost, so the card pays for its evasion-of-removal with a clock that barely ticks. What that buys is stability: a blocker that stays on the board turn after turn, holding the ground while the controlling deck sets up. The homunculus flavor (a manufactured servant built for one narrow purpose) reads through cleanly in the mechanics, a creature engineered to do one job and be almost impossible to unmake. It is a piece for the patient blue deck that wins by outlasting, the kind of card that never appears on a highlight reel but decides which decks can profitably attack into a control shell.
