Zombie tribal has always leaned on the ground: wide, resilient, and slow to close, a swarm that grinds through blockers rather than over them. This anthem breaks that pattern by handing the whole army evasion, turning a stalled board of bodies into a strike force that connects against ground defenders that can't block fliers. That evasion then feeds the second half, a loot-per-opponent trigger that scales with how many players the flying horde damages: in a wider game, a single connecting attack step can churn through a hand several cards deep, filtering toward the reanimation payoffs and value hits Zombie decks want to be discarding into anyway. The design is a two-stage engine where the first ability enables the second, and the loot's matched draw and discard is what keeps the selection from being pure profit. The payoff rewards precisely the thing the flying grants you: reliable connection. A ground-based swarm can outnumber but rarely guarantees damage; give that same swarm the sky and the trigger becomes near-automatic, which is why the anthem and the card-flow clause read as a single closed loop rather than two stapled abilities. Zombies have a long history of anthem lords, but most bought power or toughness or a recursion hook. This one buys the air, and then charges the toll back as filtered draws.
