Daybound and nightbound tightened that pressure by folding the day/night state into the game itself rather than making each werewolf track its own casting count, and this is a straightforward reward for tipping the world into darkness. The day face is honest 4/4 filler that still carries daybound, so the front half is quietly counting the table's silence toward a flip; the night side turns that body into an evasive threat that walks past small blockers, the exact profile a stalled board can't answer. What keeps it fair is the symmetry of the mechanic: the same rule that flips it to night lets any opponent flip it back by casting two spells on their turn, so the evasion is never permanent unless the game has genuinely gone quiet. That makes the card a barometer for tempo more than a hard threat. In a durdling standoff it stays a menace; against a deck that keeps casting it settles back to the daybound 4/4, a fine midrange beater without the evasion. The design leans on the whole table's behavior to decide which face you get, which is the point of the line: the beater is only as good as the lull you can force around it.
