Hex Magic

The wheel-your-own-hand effect has a long lineage: Wheel of Fortune resets your seven, Timetwister replays graveyards, Windfall punishes and refills. What separates this one is where the old cards go and what you can still do with them. Instead of feeding a graveyard you can later mine, it banishes the whole grip to exile first, then hands you a fresh count equal to what you gave up. The graveyard-feeding refillers reward a fat yard; this one pointedly denies you one, which is the constraint that pays for the effect. The real texture is in the trailing permission: cards you draw are yours to cast on any legal timing, but the exiled batch is playable only through the window that runs from this turn through the end of your next, after which the permission lapses and those cards sit in exile, uncastable. So the spell effectively doubles your access to those cards while forcing a tempo decision (spend the exiled pile inside that window or leave it stranded) that a plain discard-and-draw never demands. The count is symmetric with what you commit: cast it with a full grip and you are betting the whole hand on the new draws being better, while casting it with two or three in hand only refreshes those few. It is not a refill from empty; it is a swap sized to the wager you make. The Arcane subtype slots it into the splice-onto-Arcane framework, letting it carry effects it does not print itself, which turns a straightforward exchange into a delivery chassis for whatever you attach.
