Hero's Blade
The auto-attach trigger is the whole pitch: a +3/+2 boost that redeploys for free as long as the creatures you ride it on are legendary. Most Equipment taxes you twice, once to cast and again every time you move it, and that recurring equip cost is what keeps the format-warping ones in check. Here the equip is almost a decoy, the price you pay only when you want to put the blade on something the trigger will not catch. Feed it a stream of legends and the gear hops from one body to the next as each enters, sidestepping the usual creature-and-Equipment value problem where killing the wearer strands the equipment behind: a fresh legend just picks it back up. The design leans hard into a legendary-matters build, where the more singular bodies you can chain into play, the more the +3/+2 becomes a recurring battlefield event rather than a one-time investment. It rewards a specific deck shape rather than slotting into any equipment package, since a board of vanilla tokens never triggers the relocation at all. That narrowness is the cost the rate is paid against: a generically strong stat boost, but only generically reusable if your roster is built around the legendary supertype the trigger reads for.
