Hero of Iroas

Two reward structures sit on the same 2/2 body, and they pull in the same direction. The cost reduction makes every Aura cheaper, which matters less for the mana saved than for what it encourages: an Aura is a spell that targets a creature, so casting one on this Soldier triggers heroic and grows it. The card is built so that the obvious enabler for one ability is also the trigger for the other. Where most heroic creatures wanted any cheap spell that could be aimed at them (a pump, a protection trick), this one specifically rewards a permanent-based plan, leaning the deck toward suiting up rather than tricking out. That is a sharper, more committal version of the heroic archetype: the counters stick, the Auras stay, and a 2/2 becomes a real clock that does not deflate the way a pile of one-shot pump spells does once the cards run dry. The risk the design accepts is the usual Aura risk, stacking enchantments onto a single body, but the heroic counters change the math against enchantment-specific answers. A spell like Disenchant strips the Auras and gives the creature back; the counters it earned along the way do not come with them. Against a removal spell that kills the creature outright, of course, none of that matters; the hedge is narrow and points only at the removal that targets the enchantments rather than the body.
