Hearth Elemental // Stoke Genius
Most Adventure cards let you cash the cheap half now and stash the creature as a rain check, but here the two halves feed one engine that only pays out for patience. The Elemental's discount counts instants, sorceries, and Adventure cards sitting in your graveyard, so the printed six mana is a ceiling you spend the early turns filing down. Stoke Genius is the enabler bolted to the same card: discard your hand, draw two, and every dead spell you bin becomes another point off the creature waiting in exile. That is the loop most graveyard payoffs leave open, where you want a full yard but filling it costs tempo; here the filtering and the payoff share a card. Cast Stoke Genius early to dump the cards you would rather not have kept, then return to the 4/5 once the reduction has caught up. The body earns that wait: five toughness survives most of red's own reach and blocks upward into the midrange creatures that would otherwise punish a plan this dependent on setup. What it asks in return is a spell-dense shell built around the discount rather than one that stumbles into it. At full price the Elemental is an unremarkable six-drop with nothing to recommend it; the discount is the entire reason the card exists, and the front half is engineered so you rarely have to pay the sticker price.
