Anti-symmetry was the throughline of this era's design: cards whose abilities punish the player holding them and reward everyone else, and this one wears that idea on its sleeve. Trading your 3/3 flier for everyone else's 3/3 flier is a deal you only want when the symmetry breaks your way: when the death is going to happen anyway, when you can extract value sacrificing it, or when the multiplayer math dilutes the gift across a table that will not band together against you. The exile clause is the quiet load-bearing piece. By pulling the original out of the graveyard rather than leaving it for recursion, the design forces the death to be a real death and seals off the body permanently, so you cannot keep cycling the same creature in and out of play; whatever loop you might want, the card refuses to be its engine. In a duel it is a liability dressed as a beater: the token your opponent gets is the same size as the one you lost, so unless you have already banked the value on the way out, you have simply traded down a creature for nothing. The genuine tension is that the card is engineered to be a poor creature in fair play and a usable one only in a shell built to put it in the graveyard on your terms. That is a narrower, more deliberate ask than its plain flying body lets on.
