The third ability is the reason this exists, and it's a clever bit of self-fueling design: the Desert it sacrifices can be the Oasis itself. The land becomes its own ammunition, feeding into a +3/+3 pump that turns a dead mid-game land draw into the swing that closes a stalled race. The sorcery-speed restriction blocks the instant-speed combat ambush entirely: you commit to the pump on your own turn, telegraphed, with no way to spring it after blocks. The Desert subtype pulls double duty as both fodder for the sacrifice cost and a tribal hook into the wider cycle of fetchable, payoff-laden Deserts that shared its design space. As a fixer, the rate is honest about what color costs: colorless comes free, green comes with a life payment, the way painland-adjacent duals have charged for their pips since the earliest dual-land compromises. What lifts it above an ordinary fixing land is that the life it bleeds and the land it spends both buy back into the same closing play, and it does so while entering untapped, so the tempo penalty is deferred to the moment you choose to cash in. It is fixing that doesn't want to stay fixing: a manabase slot that quietly waits for the board to gum up, then spends itself to give the game a final shove.
