Harmony of Nature

Sorcery2 generic manaGreen mana

A lifegain spell pointed straight at the Portal product's audience: new players, kitchen tables, and the kind of board state where you have more creatures sitting around than attacks to make with them. The math is intentionally loud (four life apiece, with no ceiling on how many bodies you tap), which is the whole pedagogical point of the Portal sets, where effects were written to read like a story rather than a stack of triggers. The hidden cost lives in that tapping clause: every creature it touches is a creature that will not be blocking next turn, so the life you bank comes out of your defensive line. That tension carries the whole card. It is not a panic button you fire in response to a swing, because it is a sorcery; you commit on your own turn, tapping down your board to pad a total that the opponent then gets a full combat step to chew through. The design sits at the gentle end of green's old reward-for-going-wide identity, the same impulse that later sets expressed through anthem effects and convoke rather than raw lifegain. Here the payoff is just a number, big and reassuring, scaled to a format where surviving long enough to play your bombs was the lesson being taught.
