Hanged Executioner

Creature — Spirit2 generic manaWhite mana

Two flying bodies arrive at once: a 1/1 Spirit and a token twin, a modest air force that trades up early or holds the ground. The removal, though, lives on only one of them. The token is a French vanilla flier; the parent Executioner carries the exile ability, and firing it means paying the activation and exiling the Executioner itself as part of the cost. That is hard exile, the kind that dodges regeneration, indestructibility, and death triggers the way white's premium answers want to. Because the ability sits on the creature and demands exiling it to pay for itself, the removal is a resource you can lose: if the parent dies to combat or burn before you activate, the answer dies with it, and every attack you swing with it risks trading the exile away for nothing. Spending the body on an activation also surrenders an evasive attacker, so each use is a wager about which job matters more in that moment. The design holds together because the two roles arrive in sequence rather than piling into one overloaded threat: an early clock first, a late answer second. It asks a single three-mana card to do both without ever letting it do both at once, and the token exists precisely so the value half survives when the removal half is cashed in.
