The impulse-draw creature at its most modest: a 2/3 body that turns one connection into one card you have to spend before the turn ends. The design lives entirely in that use-it-or-lose-it clause, which is what separates this kind of effect from real card advantage. A creature that simply drew a card on damage would snowball; exiling the card and locking you into playing it this turn keeps the value tethered to what your mana and your board can actually convert. And note the word: the ability lets you play the exiled card, not cast it, so a land off the top is a live hit if you have held your land drop for after combat. A spell you can afford is a tempo swing; a bomb you cannot pay for is a taunt. The 3 toughness is the quiet part doing the heavy lifting, since an impulse-draw attacker only pays out if it survives the swing and comes back for another, and 3 clears the small ground-stallers that would otherwise trade with a smaller body. This is red's compromise on the color pie's card-draw restriction: red does not get to draw and keep, so it gets to draw and burn, spending the top of the library in real time rather than banking it. As a common-slot version of that idea, it sits at the fair floor of a long line of red creatures built to trade attacks for velocity, far from the explosive ceiling the mechanic can reach.
