Grip of Desolation

Instant4 generic manaBlack manaBlack mana

Exile stapled to land destruction, cast at instant speed, sold at a price that reflects every piece in the bundle. The removal half does the premium work: exile sidesteps regeneration, indestructibility, and death triggers that a cheaper kill spell would trip over. The land half arrives at the same moment, chipping at the opponent's mana development while you answer their threat. The wrinkle is the cast itself: devoid strips the spell's color even though it spends two black mana, so it registers as colorless for every card that keys off that. The same effect that plays like an overpriced two-for-one doubles as fuel for a matrix of payoffs built to reward noncolored spells, an Eldrazi-flavored tribe that traffics in waste and exile. The dual-target requirement is where the rate comes from: not because lands are scarce (there is almost always one to point at), but because the spell is locked into spending its second target on a permanent that is rarely the one you most want gone. You pay creature-removal money, receive a land-strip you may not have wanted, and pay again for the instant-speed option on top. That is the cost of welding exile removal, land destruction, and a colorless cast into a single card: each piece prices higher inside the bundle than it would standing alone.
