The attack trigger is a snowball engine disguised as looting. The first swing is a plain rummage: pitch one, draw one, net zero cards but a better one. The trick is the "for each card you've discarded this turn" clause, which counts every discard that turn, not just the trigger's own. Prime the counter before combat (a discard outlet, a cycling spell, a madness enabler, anything that empties your hand into the yard) and the attack refills you two, three, or four deep instead of one. The multiplier lives and dies within a single turn: the counter resets when the turn ends, so the payoff is not a compounding clock across the game but a burst you set up each combat by front-loading discards before you swing. It rewards a build that treats the graveyard as a staging area and combat as the payoff, folding aggression and card advantage into the same turn. The discard is both cost and fuel: the same resource you spend to attack is the resource that multiplies your draws, so a hollow hand yields a hollow trigger and a full one detonates. What keeps a 3/3 relevant on a five-drop is deathtouch plus evasion, turning it into a recurring threat that trades up or forces chump blocks. And note where the trigger fires: attack triggers resolve in the declare attackers step, before blockers exist, so the draw is locked in the moment you commit to combat, not contingent on damage landing.
