Greater Forgeling
Four toughness buys this body its real defensive utility: a sturdy 3/4 wall that arrives, holds the ground, and waits. The activation is where the wall decides to stop being one. Each pump trades three toughness for three power, so the first activation turns the blocker into a 6/1 that hits hard but bleeds survivability; a second push climbs to 9/-2 and kills the creature outright. That makes the modifier a finisher to ration rather than a button to mash: every point of reach is purchased with a point of its own life expectancy, and the math turns lethal against itself well before it overcommits. The repeatability is what gives the tension legs, since the swing resets each turn; the card can sit back and absorb attacks, then convert to a closer once it has decided the race is its to take. What it never does is reach across the table. The bonus is locked to this creature alone, keeping the entire calculation internal: no combat-trick blowouts on someone else's blocker, no group pump, just a body negotiating with its own toughness. The result is a workmanlike midrange threat whose only interesting question is one of timing: turn by turn, exactly how greedy you are willing to be before the +3/-3 stops being an attack and becomes a self-execution.
