Gorehorn Minotaurs

Creature — Minotaur Warrior2 generic manaRed manaRed mana

Bloodthirst 2 turns this into a tempo question rather than a body question: connect first, and a four-mana 3/3 arrives as a 5/5, a creature that suddenly outclasses almost anything an opponent could play opposite it on curve. That conditional is the entire pitch. The 3/3 baseline is deliberately unexciting, a rate nobody would run on its own, so the mechanic frontloads all the value into the opening attack of an aggressive draw and offers nothing to a deck that stumbles. It rewards the pilot who has already pushed damage through before this hits the table, and it punishes the topdeck on an empty board. Bloodthirst as a keyword was red and black's experiment in pricing aggression: the counters are free if you are already winning the damage race, and unaffordable the moment you are not, so the card scales its own power to the game state instead of asking the pilot to. That is a tidier solution to the "good aggressive creature, bad when behind" problem than older designs that simply printed a fragile body and hoped. Here the body is the floor and the swing is the ceiling, and which one you get is decided before the spell ever resolves.
