Goldmeadow Harrier

Creature — Kithkin SoldierWhite mana

Tappers are white's oldest soft-lock tool, and this is one of the bare-bones versions: a body whose printed power and toughness barely register because the ability is the entire reason it exists. The cost is what shapes the bargain. Each activation asks for a single white mana plus the tap, which means the creature can throttle exactly one threat per turn cycle and forces a choice about which one to neutralize rather than letting you stall an entire team. That single-target ceiling is what kept this kind of effect from being oppressive in the eras it appeared: the rate is tight, but the work compounds. Tap a blocker before your attack step, tap an attacker before their combat, and a fragile 1/1 becomes a recurring tax on the opponent's tempo. The lever matters more than the body, which is why the creature type reads as almost incidental: it is nominally a Kithkin Soldier but functions as a repeatable effect on legs, vulnerable to any removal yet cheap enough that losing it rarely stings. It belongs to the wide family of white tappers stretching back to the earliest sets, the design template that lets weenie decks fight above their weight by deciding which of the opponent's creatures get to participate in combat at all.
