Goblin Cohort

Creature — Goblin WarriorRed mana

A 2/2 for a single red mana is a price the color does not normally pay without strings, and here the string is a tax on tempo rather than power. The attack restriction asks for a fresh creature spell every turn you want to swing, which inverts the usual goblin curve: instead of dumping your hand and racing, you have to keep feeding the board to keep the body live. That makes it a stress test for a deck's creature density. A flat aggro shell that empties out by turn four leaves this stranded, blocking but unable to push damage, while a deck built to chain one-drops and two-drops turns the drawback into a near-nonissue. The design is honest about what it is doing: red gets a premium rate up front and pays it back in deckbuilding discipline, not in mana. It belongs to the lineage of cheap-but-conditional beaters where the cost is moved off the mana line and onto how you sequence your turns, the same trade that justifies creatures that can't block or that demand an upkeep payment. The reward is a clean two power for one in a tribe that has always wanted exactly that; the moment your hand runs dry, the body goes inert and the whole bargain reverses on you.
