Goblin Bushwhacker
The genius of the kicker tax here is that it folds two cards into one slot. Unkicked, it is a 1/1 body you flop out and forget. Pay the second red, and it becomes a one-shot battle cry that fires the moment it enters: your whole board gets +1/+0 and haste until end of turn. The +1/+0 is the obvious payoff, but the haste clause is what unlocks the kill. The creatures that have been sitting on the table since last turn could already swing; what the haste does is conscript everything that landed alongside the Bushwhacker, the freshly cast token army that would otherwise be summoning sick, into the same attack. That is how a board of small bodies turns lethal a full turn earlier than it has any right to. Goblin tribal decks ran it as a finisher, but its real home was any go-wide aggro shell deep enough in mana to afford the kick: token engines, one-drop swarms, anything that needed to convert a wide battlefield into damage before the opponent stabilized. The 1/1 floor is what keeps it from being a dead draw in the early game; the kicker is what makes it the card you want to topdeck with a board already assembled. It is the cheapest creature ever built around the one-card overrun trick, the red answer to "I have eight power on the table and need it to connect now."
