Random sacrifice is a strange thing to bolt onto a tribe built on overwhelming numbers, and the tension never resolves cleanly. Goblins flood the board; this one turns every Goblin that enters, including itself, into a coin flip that can cost each player a creature of their own choosing. The math seems to favor the wide deck on paper: a red player fielding a swarm has the most expendable bodies, so a tails on their own flip is likely to bleed away something irrelevant, while an opponent running fewer, larger threats stands to lose a real one each time the coin comes up wrong for them. But the symmetry is genuine, the variance is total, and the trigger fires every time a Goblin arrives, so the flips compound as the engine that built the board keeps pulling itself. There is no targeting, only repeated coins that each demand at most one creature from each player who tails, again and again as the army grows. It belongs to the strain of early-era red design that treats randomness as a balancing mechanism rather than a drawback, asking the player to accept chaos as the price of a repeatable global sacrifice. The result punishes go-tall decks in theory and grinds on everyone in practice, with the Goblin tribe footing the bill for a 2/2 that never stops flipping.
