Glorifier of Dusk

Creature — Vampire Soldier3 generic manaWhite manaWhite mana

A 4/4 for five with no enters-the-battlefield text and no static keywords is a deliberately plain frame, and the two life-payment abilities are what turn that frame into a slow value engine. The pricing is the whole maneuver: paying life rather than mana means the keywords are always available regardless of how tapped out the rest of your turn left you, but you are funding evasion and defense from the same resource you are trying to protect. Flying for two life closes games when the board has clogged; vigilance for two life lets the body swing and hold back blockers in the same turn. Stacking both is four life for a flying vigilant 4/4, repeatable every turn you can afford it, which is a real clock that taxes you for the privilege. The design lives in the tension between aggression and longevity: the deeper into a grind you go, the more those two-life increments add up, so the card naturally wants short games where the life total is a tempo lever rather than a survival cushion. It is a clean expression of the principle that you can hand a vanilla body genuine flexibility without printing a single new keyword, just by letting it convert one resource into another at instant speed.
