Ghostly Touch

The repeatable tap-or-untap on attack is the whole pitch, and it points two directions at once. Untap a tapped land or creature and the Aura is a quiet ramp-and-pseudo-vigilance engine, freeing up a blocker or an extra mana every time you swing. Tap a would-be blocker and it becomes a recurring attack-step removal trick, neutralizing the best defender turn after turn without spending a card. The target is "permanent," not "creature," so it answers anything that taps: a blocker, a key land, an opposing mana rock, an untapped artifact. The trigger fires on attack declaration, going on the stack and resolving before blockers are assigned, so the tap clause does its work whether or not the creature ultimately connects. What pays for that flexibility is the demand for a creature worth attacking with in the first place: the Aura sits idle on a body that stays home, and a two-mana enchantment strapped to a creature carries the usual exposure that a single removal spell answers both cards at once. The design wants something already swinging profitably, where the tap clause clears the last defender and the untap clause turns a tapped attacker into a standing threat on the crackback. It reads as a small effect because the rate is small, but the loop is the point: an attack trigger that recurs every combat compounds in a way a one-shot trick never does.
