Ghitu Firebreathing

Enchantment — Aura1 generic manaRed mana

Firebreathing and its kin carried a single quiet weakness for their entire early life: the Aura died with the creature it sat on, turning a sweeper or a chump-block trade into a two-for-one against you. The recursion clause here is the fix. Paying one red to bounce the Aura back to hand means the pump never goes down to a removal spell, a blocked attacker, or a wrath; you replay it next turn and keep the engine intact. The flash is the other half, and it reframes the card from a sorcery-speed declaration into a combat-step ambush: wait until blocks are declared, drop it on an attacker, and pump past the math an opponent thought they had solved. Both abilities draw from the same well, so the card scales with whatever red mana is left over, but the bounce gives it a resilience flat aura pumps never had. The cost is consistency: it asks for a creature already on board, a red-heavy mana base, and the patience to feed it incrementally rather than swing a game in one shot. What it offers in return is an aura that refuses to become card disadvantage, which is the trade-off aura design has wrestled with since the earliest sets.
