Garenbrig Squire
The trigger keys off the cast, not the resolution, and it keys off the creature half specifically: it fires the moment a creature spell with an Adventure hits the stack, whether or not that creature took its Adventure detour first. That distinction is the sharp part of the design. Adventure creatures usually incentivize casting the small spell early and the creature later, so a lazy payoff might reward only one line of play. This one doesn't care about the routing: every Bonecrusher Giant, Lovestruck Beast, or Beanstalk Giant you deploy as an actual creature pumps the Squire, whether it comes down straight or arrives later after its Adventure resolved. What it won't do is reward the Adventure spell itself; casting Stomp or Heart's Desire does nothing here, because those are instants and sorceries, not creature spells. The +1/+1 lasts only until end of turn, which pushes the reward toward flooding the board in a single burst rather than banking incremental gains: a payoff that scales with how many Adventure creatures you can chain in one turn, and nothing more. That gives it a ceiling tied entirely to the density of the shell around it. Absent a deck committed to the mechanic, it's a 2/2 with a dormant trigger, and the card makes no pretense otherwise. It was drawn to reward going all-in on a single archetype, not to be a threat that stands on its own.
