Fungus Sliver

Damage-as-fuel is an old red-and-green idea, but here it scales by tribe rather than per body. The static grant turns every combat block into an investment: any Sliver that takes damage and lives walks away bigger, which inverts the usual logic of trading creatures in combat. Opponents are forced into an uncomfortable math problem, where chipping at your board only feeds it, and clean kills (anything that bypasses the survival clause) become the only profitable interaction. That survival requirement is the leash on the whole thing; the counter is a reward for enduring damage, not for absorbing a fatal blow, so the ability does nothing on the creatures it would most want to save. Within the Sliver framework, this is the engine that makes the swarm durable instead of merely wide, and it stacks: two copies mean two counters per damage event, compounding a board that is already hard to attack into. It rewards a defensive posture that most Sliver builds, geared toward going fast and wide, do not naturally adopt, which is part of why it has always sat slightly apart from the keyword-granting Slivers that simply add reach or evasion. This one asks the deck to play the long game and grind, trading combat steps for permanent stat growth across the whole tribe.
