Frost Augur

Snow Creature — Human WizardBlue mana

Snow was the mechanical spine of the archetype this Wizard belongs to, and it is the payoff that makes the snow-count matter card by card. The activation pays with a snow mana symbol, and the reward gates on the top card being a snow card: build a deck where snow permanents crowd out everything else and the tap becomes a filtered draw engine, a repeatable dig that plays like a slow, one-sided form of card advantage. Dilute the snow density with too many nonsnow spells and the ability whiffs into a scry-less look-and-shrug. That threshold is what balances a one-mana body attached to recurring selection: the payoff scales precisely with how much of the manabase and permanent suite you have committed to snow, so a deckbuilder who half-commits gets a 1/2 that mostly stares at the library. It is a design that treats a supertype as a resource you accumulate rather than a keyword you fire once. The lineage runs back to older top-of-library manipulation like Sylvan Library and the long line of Wizards that reward a coherent deck theme, but the snow constraint gives it a specific shape: less a generic card-advantage tool than a reward for building the mana base itself as a synergy piece.

Snow, Tap: Look at the top card of your library. If it's a snow card, you may reveal it and put it into your hand. (Snow can be paid with one mana from a snow source.)
