Frontline Rush

InstantRed manaWhite mana

Most two-mana Boros aggro tricks force a single decision at printing: does it make bodies or make a threat bigger. This one refuses to pick, and the choice happens the instant you cast it. As a modal instant it commits to one half and heads to the graveyard, so the two modes are not a sequence you assemble over turns; they are a fork you resolve in the moment, read against the board in front of you. That framing is where the card gets sharp. The Goblin mode is your play into an empty or contested board, adding two attackers when the count is low and the pump would be feeble. The +X/+X mode is your payoff once you have already gone wide, scaling off the creatures you control right now, which means the tokens you made on an earlier turn (from anything, not this card) are exactly what powers a lethal swing later. Instant speed is what makes the fork worth holding: keep it during combat, threaten the growth on an unblocked attacker, and pivot to two bodies if they trade or block instead. Pinning the pump to your own present board count is the ceiling that stops the effect from running away: you only get the swing you have already built toward. Two colors, aggressive slant, no defensive line, and yet rarely a dead draw, because whichever half the board asks for is the half you take.
