Frogify

Removal that leaves the creature on the battlefield has always been a strange trade, and this Aura commits fully to the strangest version of it. It does not kill anything; it overwrites it. The enchanted creature keeps existing but forgets everything it was: no keywords, no activated or triggered abilities, no menace, no indestructibility, no relevant creature type. What remains is a vanilla 1/1 Frog. The design descends from the polymorph line of blue answers (Turn to Frog is the near-identical instant version, the older Ovinize its temporary cousin), but attaching the effect to a permanent Aura is what makes it stick: the target stays neutered for as long as the enchantment survives. That permanence is also the seam an opponent works. Because the answer lives on the battlefield rather than the graveyard, any enchantment removal, any blink, any bounce restores the creature to full function. It is a lock, not a kill, and the difference matters most against the threats whose whole value is a single ability or an oversized body: a commander, a menace flier, a creature you cannot afford to see resolve its trigger again. The gap is in the layers. Frogify sets base power and toughness to 1/1, but that is only the base value; anything that modifies power and toughness, an Equipment bonus, a counter, a +1/+1 pump, applies on top afterward. So an equipped brute keeps its buff and stays large: the Aura strips the ability but not the modifier. The tension between total shutdown and reversible answer is the entire pitch, and it rewards knowing exactly which threats stay small once you make them small.
