Fractal Harness

The token was the point. Most combat boosters solve for a bearer you already control; this one manufactures its own, minting a Fractal on entry sized to the X you paid and attaching itself before you commit anything else. That answers the perennial equipment problem of drawing the sword with no arm to hold it, and it means the doubling clause always has a target. From there the math turns exponential rather than additive. The usual counter payoff nudges a threat up a step; this one multiplies, and it multiplies the instant you declare an attack. The trigger fires on attacker declaration, before blockers or damage, so the doubling is banked the moment you commit to the swing rather than contingent on connecting. Two counters become four, four become eight, eight become sixteen; each attack step is another power of two, and the clock compresses fast. The X in the casting cost pulls double duty: it seeds the starting counter count and, by extension, the size of that first doubling, so the Harness rewards being cast late with mana to spare rather than dropped early as a cheap trinket. The equip cost is the escape hatch: if the token itself gets answered, the Harness slides onto something with evasion or protection and keeps the engine running. It is a self-contained snowball wearing an Equipment's frame, built for green-blue counter decks where the token and the multiplier feed one board rather than two card slots.
