Fortunate Few

A political board wipe, which is a strange thing to build in white. Most mass removal in the color is unconditional by design: everyone loses everything, the board resets to zero, and the caster accepts the symmetry as the cost of the reset. This one hands the reset a survivor list written by the table. You spare one permanent belonging to someone else, and every opponent spares one belonging to another player, so the wipe that clears eleven things leaves a curated handful standing, none of them chosen by their own controller. The mechanism is pure multiplayer engineering: it only makes sense with three or more players, because the "each other player chooses" clause is what turns a one-sided blowout into a negotiation. In a duel it degrades into a clumsy near-symmetrical wipe that spares one permanent apiece, which tells you exactly who it was built for. The design trick is that it launders a wrath into a favor. You are not destroying the table's stuff; you are letting everyone spare something across the table, and the person who casts it decides which opponent's threat is worth protecting while the rest of the board burns. That framing is the whole point: a Wrath of God asks for no permission and earns no goodwill, while this one arrives with a bargaining chip already in hand. It is a wipe you can talk your way into casting, and the survivors are the receipts.
