Formless Genesis
The scaling clause and the recursion clause are two halves of the same feedback loop, and each feeds the other. Retrace lets you recast from the graveyard by discarding a land, which means every re-cast grows the graveyard's land count by one; the token you make is exactly as big as the pile of dead lands you have built. So a card that produces a modest body early gets larger every time you reload it, and the fuel you spend to reload is the same input that sizes the payoff. It is a self-priming engine: the cost of the ability is the reward's raw material. Changeling and deathtouch turn the stat line into a functional blocker regardless of size, so even a small early token trades up, while the deathtouch stays relevant once the token has grown past the point where its own toughness matters. The kindred type line and the token's every-creature-type status feed tribal payoffs that count Shapeshifters or reward creating creatures of a shared type, letting the tokens plug into decks built around a specific type without the card ever naming one. Green rarely gets to recur its own spell this cheaply while converting a graveyard's worth of spent lands into board size, which is the structural inversion here: cards you would otherwise never draw again become the thing that scales the whole engine.
