The untap ability is the workhorse half here, and it is the one that quietly rewires how a permanent behaves. A creature that can untap another target permanent every turn turns any tap ability into something you can fire twice, doubles the output of a mana rock or a mana dork, and lets a vigilance-less attacker guard the door again on the crackback. That is a repeatable effect on a body cheap enough to leave down, and the sturdy 1/3 frame is built to survive the incidental removal that would otherwise punish a tapper for showing up early. The detective half is the payoff for a graveyard you have been filling: exiling three worth of collected evidence turns this into a repeatable soft-Icy Manipulator, tapping down a blocker to push damage or neutering an attacker before combat. The tension between the two abilities is deliberate: both compete for the same tap, so each turn asks whether the untap or the tap is worth more right now, and the collect-evidence cost means the second mode only comes online once the yard has depth to spend. It is an engine piece that reads as filler until you notice how many small advantages a free untap compounds into over a long game.
