Force Away

Instant1 generic manaBlue mana

Bounce spells at two mana have long settled on a clean return-to-hand with nothing attached, and this design bolts a conditional rider onto that baseline: a loot that switches on only when your side of the board is already big. The gating is the whole bargain, so it is worth being exact about what the rider pays. The loot is draw-then-discard, not a cantrip; you swap one card for another but end the turn down a card, so the reward is selection, never advantage. That creates a familiar tension. In the slower, controlling shells where a cheap bounce most wants a home, you often have no large body and the rider sits blank, meaning you paid for filtering you cannot reliably access. In the aggressive, creature-heavy builds that can turn it on, spending two mana to develop a threat usually beats spending it to answer one. Ferocious was a recurring lever for rewarding a board built around large attackers, and this is among its most modest applications: the payoff is a quality bump on your draw rather than a lead in cards. What you get is a tempo play that occasionally trades a stranded spell for a fresh one when a real threat is already sitting in front of you, which is a distinctly different ask than a removal spell or a hard answer. It buys time and, sometimes, a better hand; it does not buy you a card.
