Fomori Nomad
A vanilla 4/4 for five was already a generation behind by the time this Giant arrived: aggressive midrange wanted bodies that pressured tempo or carried evasion, and a creature with no abilities at that rate sat at the bottom of the curve. What earns the card its slot is the type line, not the stat line. "Nomad Giant" is a deliberate splice of two tribal lines red had been quietly building toward, and the card exists less to be cast on its own merits than to feed effects that count Nomads or Giants. It is connective tissue rather than a payoff: a creature whose job is to be the right two words rather than the right four power. Outside a deck that taxes its creature types for value, there is nothing here the era's better five-drops did not do more cheaply; inside one, the 4/4 body is just enough to block and trade while the tribe does the work.
