Seven mana for a 4/4 with a conditional, almost apologetic kill clause: the giant only ever takes down something with toughness 2 or less, and only if there is a legal target when it lands. The math here is deliberately backward for constructed play, where seven mana buys an army or a game-ender, not a midsize beater that snipes a mana dork. That mismatch is the whole identity of the card. It descends from a familiar mold of common and uncommon top-enders built on the same trade: a body big enough to brawl, attached to a removal trigger narrow enough that it never threatens to be efficient. The toughness-2-or-less restriction is the leash. It clears the small, sticky creatures that gum up a board (early drops, evasive one-toughness fliers, utility dorks) while leaving genuine threats untouched, so the giant tilts a grind without ever functioning as a removal spell with legs. The "you may" is the quieter half of the design, and its purpose is often misread: it does nothing to help on an empty board (a mandatory targeted trigger with no legal target never goes on the stack at all). Where it earns its keep is the awkward case where your opponent controls no two-toughness creature but you do, so the option spares you from being forced to destroy your own. Nothing here builds toward a combo or rewards intricate sequencing; it is exactly what it looks like, a sturdy curve-topper, and the narrow trigger is the price the rate was set to pay.
