Flayer of Loyalties

Threaten effects have always been priced on the assumption that the borrowed body is the body you get: you steal a creature, swing with whatever stats it already has, and hand it back at end of turn. This one rewrites the target on the way through combat. The cast trigger doesn't just seize the creature; it reprints it as a 10/10 with trample, haste, and annihilator 2, then points that stolen colossus back at the player who owned it. A 1/1 mana dork becomes a wrecking ball; the opponent's own blocker becomes their two-permanent tax. The genius of stapling annihilator to a temporary-control effect is that "you give it back at end of turn" stops mattering when the attack has already sacrificed the defending player out of the game. And because it reads "when you cast," the theft is locked to the act of casting, not to the creature resolving: removal aimed at the spell on the stack doesn't undo it. The flip side of that same wording is that cheating this into play without casting it (Reanimate, Show and Tell, any effect that skips the cast) skips the trigger entirely; you get the printed 10/10 with its own trample and annihilator 2, but no stolen creature riding alongside. Cast it the way it's written, though, and the body's own annihilator 2 stacks with the borrowed one, so a single cast threatens two annihilator attackers across two combats: the stolen creature now, the Flayer next turn. This is a threaten spell built to end the game the turn it lands, not to grind a modest edge.
