Flare of Faith
The pump spell that pays you for staying on theme. As a raw combat trick, +2/+2 for two mana is unremarkable filler, the kind of effect that has existed in white in one form or another forever. The whole design turns on the Human clause: point it at the right body and the numbers jump to +3/+3 with indestructible attached, which converts it from a fight-winner into a blowout against sweepers and targeted removal. That gap between the default mode and the tribal mode is the point. Rather than lock the card to Humans outright and make it dead in decks that field none, the design leaves a floor everyone can play and stacks the reward on top for the decks built to earn it. The indestructible half is what earns the trick its keep: giving a creature +3/+3 and immunity to destruction at instant speed lets you attack or block into open mana and dare the opponent to interact, and it dodges the sorcery-speed wraths that a two-power pump could never survive. It reads as a straightforward efficiency test, but the real work is the conditional scaling, a way to reward tribal commitment without punishing the players who skip it.
