Among the tribal lands that gave each major creature type its own modestly priced fixer, the Elemental one carries the most unusual rider: a repeatable haste button bolted onto a basic red source. The reveal clause is the tax that pays for it. Show an Elemental from hand and the land arrives untapped; fail to, and it comes in tapped, the standard penalty for a land that wants to enter ready without restriction. What sets it apart from a plain red-producing land is the ,
sink, which grants a target creature haste until end of turn. That folds an effect normally bought with a dedicated permanent into the mana base, where it sits as a reusable enabler immune to the removal that punishes creature-based haste granters. The cost is built into the tap: every haste activation spends the same tap you would otherwise use to make mana, so the land cannot ramp and rush in the same turn, and the
on top makes each use a deliberate commitment rather than a free trick. The Elemental gate is largely flavor in practice, since the haste ability cares nothing for tribe; it wears the tribal-land dress but works as a flexible red source with an aggressive finisher welded on, meant for the deck that wants to drop a fat threat and swing the turn it lands.
