Fiendish Duo
The static damage doubler applied to a creature body instead of an artifact or enchantment is the whole gambit here. Where a permanent like Furnace of Rath doubles all damage symmetrically, this one narrows the effect to a single target class (damage dealt to your opponents) and staples it to a first-striking 5/5 that swings for ten. Every point of damage from any source that lands on an opponent, combat or otherwise, gets doubled: a burn spell to the face, a random ping, another attacker's connect. The design is built for a casual multiplayer table where math is the point, and it makes no attempt to hide its intentions. The first strike is the piece that ties the body to the ability: it lets the creature's own combat damage land before a blocker without first strike can trade, but a chump block only trades with the base body since the doubler never touches damage dealt to a blocker. It is a blunt, honest piece of design that turns any red deck's incidental reach into a clock, and it asks nothing more sophisticated than pointing damage at the right player.
