Fervor

Enchantment2 generic manaRed mana

The blanket-haste enchantment, and the cleanest statement of an idea red has spent its whole history refining: that the tempo cost of summoning sickness is a tax aggressive decks will pay to remove. Where later anthems folded haste into a body or a sacrifice payoff, this one isolated the keyword into a single persistent permanent, granting it to everything you control now and everything that arrives after. That permanence is the design lever. A one-shot haste enabler buys a single turn of surprise; a standing enchantment converts every future creature into an immediate threat, which reframes the whole curve behind it. The drawback is structural rather than written: it costs three mana and affects nothing by itself, so the turn you cast it is a turn you are not committing a body, and against removal it can sit there doing nothing if your board is empty. Red has since printed sharper versions of the same effect, often stapled to a creature so the slot is never dead, but the core conversion (your draws stop being next-turn plays and start being this-turn attacks) is the same lever every haste-granter pulls. This is the early, unadorned version of it, before the keyword learned to come attached to value.
