Unblockable on a 1/1 frame is rarely the point; the trigger is. Each connection peels a counter off any permanent, and that targeting is wide open in both directions: shave a loyalty counter off a planeswalker, strip charge counters from an artifact you want to disarm, knock a fade counter off something running on a clock, or chip away at an opponent's slow-burn engine. The unblockable text exists purely to guarantee the trigger lands, turning a fragile body into a reliable delivery mechanism for one counter per turn. The catch is the rate of attrition: one counter at a time, gated behind a combat step, on a body any removal answers without caring whether it can block. It functions less as a beater and more as a disruption clock, the kind of design that reads as marginal until a format leans hard on counter-based permanents, at which point a recurring "remove a counter" effect quietly becomes a wrench in the gears. Because it can only reach what is on the battlefield, the targets are limited to permanents in play, but within that space the effect reaches your own side too: pull a counter off something that wants to shed one, the rare permanent where losing a counter is an upside rather than a cost. That flexibility is the whole appeal of an effect this open-ended, even if the body attached to it never asked to do more than connect.
