Fatal Attraction

A kill spell that pays for itself with patience rather than mana. The two damage on entry clears small bodies immediately; the four-per-upkeep trigger drops each turn on anything that survives, but only on a delay that hands the opponent a full turn cycle of warning. That delay is the whole gamble. A burn spell pays full freight for the certainty of resolving and dealing its damage right now; this one takes a discount in exchange for a clock, and the clock is exploitable. The enchanted creature can attack one last time before your upkeep arrives, be sacrificed for value in response to nothing, or be bounced to send the Aura to the graveyard with its job half-finished. Every one of those outs is a one-sided exchange against the caster: an Aura spent on an opponent's creature is the only card lost when the creature flickers, returns to hand, or is sacrificed away, and the opponent walks off having spent a doomed body to extract real value while you are down a card with nothing to show for it. That asymmetry is the price red pays for spreading its damage across turns. It belongs to the strand of red removal that tries to patch the color's shortage of clean, instant kill by metering damage out over time instead of spending it all at once, a structural compromise red has always made uneasily. The result is excellent against a creature already committed and parked with no exit, and unreliable against anything with evasion, a sacrifice outlet, or enough toughness to survive each four-damage tick on its own.
