Fascination

SorceryX generic manaBlue manaBlue mana

A symmetrical X-spell that offers the same shape twice: everyone draws, or everyone mills, in equal measure. The symmetry is the wrinkle. Most card-advantage spells in blue exist to break parity in your favor, so handing your opponent the same cards or the same mill looks like a design that taxes itself. The payoff lives in the gap between who can use the resource and who cannot. Refill both hands when your deck converts raw cards into a lead faster than theirs can; empty both libraries when your win comes from decking the table rather than outdrawing it, and the parity stops mattering the moment your opponent runs out of cards to draw. The modal split is what gives it range: the draw line is a group-hug effect or a desperate dig, while the mill line turns a symmetric spell into a shared clock that ends the game for whoever hits zero first. The cost is the brake. Doubling up on draws or mills for the price of one looks generous, but the second helping is a free gift to an opponent who did nothing to earn it, and any deck better at spending resources than yours simply pulls ahead on the exchange. What the card asks, in a color built to convert excess into a lead, is whether your engine spins fast enough to outrun the parity you are handing the table for free: a spell that scales without limit but insists on splitting the spoils down the middle.
