Fang Skulkin
A colorless permission slip for one color's combat math, which is a stranger design than it first sounds. The body is a serviceable 2/1 that can swing into the red zone, but the activated ability is the point: at two mana per use, it hands wither to any black creature, turning that creature's combat damage into something that shrinks rather than trades. The framing is deliberate. Wither lived primarily on the green-black side of its mechanical home, so a colorless source that grants it bends the keyword toward boards built around black creatures specifically, rewarding a battlefield where the bodies are already there and only the damage type needs upgrading. Note that this is genuine damage, not deathtouch: a wither attacker still has to push at least as much power as a blocker's toughness to kill it, but anything that survives walks away diminished, and the reduction sticks. The repeatable cost is what makes the build interesting; you can grant wither across multiple turns or to several attackers in one combat step, eroding an opponent's defenders rather than swapping evenly into them. Being a Scarecrow is the quiet enabler: the catch-all artifact tribe lets a colorless creature carry a color-specific ability without belonging to that color, so the grant feels native to a black aggro shell rather than splashed in from outside.
