False Memories

Instant1 generic manaBlue mana

The graveyard fill is the visible half; the delayed exile is the bill that comes due. Seven cards drop into the yard, then at the beginning of the next end step seven leave it, which makes this less a self-mill enabler than a one-shot delivery system for whatever you can cash those cards into before the cleanup clause fires. The window is the entire pitch, and it is tight: cast it on your turn and the exile resolves at that same turn's end step, so everything has to happen between resolution and cleanup. Cast it on an opponent's end step (or hold it for one) and the bin stays stocked through your untap, which is the version that actually buys time. Either way, this is acceleration that demands you spend the graveyard immediately: flash a spell back, satisfy a threshold count for one resolution, feed a payoff that triggers before the cards vanish. The card is a study in deferred cost dressed as card advantage, and it never found a payoff loud enough to justify the bookkeeping. What kept it from breaking out is the same thing that makes it elegant: it hands you a full graveyard and then takes it all back, so any engine built on it has to extract its value inside one narrow stretch of the same turn or get nothing. Conditional acceleration that asked an era of graveyard cards to supply a reason, and rarely got one.
