Fallen Ferromancer
Infect on a pinger is a quietly nasty combination, and this is the rare card that pairs both on the same body. The activated ability deals one damage at a time, but because the creature has infect, that damage lands as poison on players and as a minus-one-minus-one counter on creatures. A repeatable source of poison from across the board changes the math entirely: the slow grind of an infect clock normally lives in combat, where blockers and removal can interrupt it, but a tap ability that pings for a single poison counter sidesteps the red zone altogether. The flip side is the rate. At four mana for a 1/1 with a two-mana activation, this is a glacial engine, the kind of repeatable damage that only matters if you have all the time in the world or a way to untap it repeatedly. Against creatures, the same activation chips away with counters that stick permanently, making it a slow toughness-eroder rather than a clean removal spell. The body itself dies to anything, which is the cost of stapling an evergreen pinger ability to an infect creature: you get the dream interaction, but on a frame fragile enough that it rarely survives long enough to close the gap on its own.
